Destinator Software - Operating Destinator

Starting Destinator
Start Destinator using the following instructions:
  Using the stylus, press the Start button in Windows CE, and select “PowerLOC Destinator” from the Windows drop-down menu.
After the software is loaded, the Destinator start-up screen is displayed.
  When using Destinator for the very first time, start Destinator in an open area with an unobstructed view of the sky to allow the GPS receiver to acquire satellite data and signals.  Allow up to 5 minutes to complete the process.  On subsequent occasions, allow up to 1 minute.
  Read the warning note, and press the “I Agree button” to confirm that you have read and understood your responsibilities.
The software then displays the main screen.
Starting Destinator

After you press “I agree button” for the first time on the Warning screen, the Activation screen pops out.  Type in the nine (9) characters of the Activation key that placed on your Destinator CD jacket and click “Activate” button.  Then click “OK’ on “Thank you for choosing Destinator” note.  Your Destinator software is now fully activated and ready for use.

Note: You will need to do it only once, after you install Destinator software and run it for the first time. 
Selecting Map

If you have loaded several maps into the memory card, select one map for Destinator to use.  Select the map using the following instructions:

Press the Menu button, and select Switch Map from the drop-down menu to display the Map screen See Selecting Map.  The software lists all available maps loaded into Main Memory and memory card (s).

 
Selecting Maps

Select the appropriate map from the scroll list using the stylus, or the scroll button on the pocket PC device.  The field New Map displays the name of the selected map.

Press the Switch button.
The screen will return temporarily to the desktop for a few seconds, then display the Destinator start-up screen again.
Entering destination, and initiating navigation
Enter a new destination, and initiate navigation using the following instructions:
Press the Menu button, and select Destination from the drop-down menu.
From the sub-menu select the City->St. button
The software displays the Address (City, Street, House) screen.  By default, the software displays a list of city names for the map that is currently selected.
Use the keyboard or the scroll button on the pocket PC device to select the city of your choice.

Using the keyboard, enter the first few characters in the city name.  The scroll list will update accordingly.

You can press the Keyboard button to hide the keyboard, and use the scroll button on the pocket PC device to select the city of your choice.

Press the Street button to display a list of street names for the selected city.  Select the street name of your choice using the scroll button on the pocket PC device.

You can also use the Keyboard button to enter the first few characters in the street name.  The scroll list will update accordingly.
Press the House button.  The software displays the keyboard, and the range of addresses for the selected street.
Enter the house number using the keyboard.
The software will not allow you to enter a house number that is outside the range.

Press the Go! button to initiate navigation, and start driving.
Voice and visual navigation guidance
When you press the Navigate button, the software calculates the route and gives you turn-by-turn visual guidance to get you to your destination.  If sound is turned on in the mobile device, you will also receive voice guidance.
For your safety, do not use visual guidance when you are operating the vehicle - always use voice guidance.
While every effort has been made to provide you with the best map information available, PowerLOC cannot guarantee accuracy of information on each and every street.  Please exercise your judgment at all times, and do not rely solely on automated navigation guidance.
While Destinator has an extensive database of information on road signs and restrictions, this information changes rapidly as new restrictions are constantly introduced.  Please exercise your judgment at all times, and do not rely solely on automated navigation guidance.
The visual guidance instructions are displayed at the top of the screen.  Your present location is displayed on the screen as a small steering wheel.  The departure point is indicated with a red flag, and the destination with a blue flag.  The calculated route is displayed in blue.

You can use the scroll button on the pocket PC device to review details of the route at any time.  Press the top of the scroll button to zoom in, and the bottom of the scroll button to zoom out.

Press the middle of the scroll button to display the whole route, and details of the trip.  Press the middle of the scroll button a second time, and view the manoeuvre list.
Press the middle of the scroll button a third time, to return to the street level detail.

You can also highlight any manoeuvre, and use the Show button to review details of that manoeuvre.  See Manoeuvre List Detail Screen.
If you miss a turn, the software will give the voice prompt  "Route Recalculation" (if activated), and automatically recalculate the route to get you to your destination.
To abort navigation guidance at any time, press the Menu button and select Destination from the drop-down menu.  Then select Cancel Route from the sub-menu.
Note: When ordering your GPS System-please give vehicle make, model and year for correct mounting solution.
