| Destinator Installation | ||
| The following procedure is intended to allow you to quickly install and set up Destinator, and familiarize yourself with using Destinator: | ||
| 1. | Install navigation software - refer to Software installation | |
| 2. | Load map into Compact Flash memory card - refer to Loading Map into Memory Card | |
| 3. | Install hardware - refer to Installing hardware | |
| Software installation |
| Load navigation software from the CD-ROM drive in your desktop PC to your pocket PC device using the following instructions |
| First, ensure that the pocket PC device is plugged into the cradle and powered up. |
| Check that Microsoft ActiveSync (supplied with your pocket PC device) is installed on your desktop PC. |
| Check that ActiveSync has established a connection to the pocket PC device. |
| Insert the Destinator CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive in your desktop PC. The start-up screen See Start-up (Select Language) Screen should appear automatically. |
| If the screen does not automatically appear, press the Start button in Windows, and run the file "INSTALL.EXE" or “START.EXE” located in the Destinator CD-ROM. |
| Select the language of your choice. The installation software will use your choice to set up the Destinator menus, as well as the maps. |
| The installation software then displays the Map Loader screen See Map Loader Screen. |

| Press the “Install Software” button. The installation software displays the software license screen. |
| Press the “Yes, I agree” button to continue |
| If a version of the navigation software was previously installed, press the “Yes” button to completely remove it. |
| Then press the “Yes” button to continue to install the new version. |
| Installing navigation software to the pocket PC device main memory is suggested, as it eliminates the need to reinstall the software every time a new Compact Flash memory card is used. |
| You cannot install the navigation software to an external Flash Reader. |
| When installation is successfully complete, "Program Installation successful! - Click <Yes> to register online for free support and upgrade notices!" message appears. Press “Yes,” to register online. |

After installing the navigation software, load maps into the Storage Card - refer to Loading map (s) into memory card. |
| Loading map into memory card |
| Load map(s) into the memory card using the following instructions: |
| Insert the Destinator CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive in your desktop PC, and display the Map Loader screen - refer to Software installation for details, if necessary. |
| You cannot load maps until the navigation software is first installed. |
| You can install the map(s) to the memory card plugged into PC, or a memory card plugged into an external Flash Reader. If you decide to install it to the external Flash Reader, press the Select Target Device button, then select the external Flash Reader first. |
| Note: For iPaq 38xx and 39xx series – To install map on SD card, first remove CD card from your device. Then you will be able to select SD card as your “Target Device” and install maps on it. Destinator software will recognise maps on both cards. |
| If installing navigation software to a memory card plugged into an external Flash Reader, the pocket PC device must still be plugged into the cradle and connected to the desktop PC through ActiveSync in order to complete the installation. |
| Select the map(s) you wish to load. You can select the map(s) in two ways. |
| If you know the map(s) you wish to load, place the mouse cursor on the map index (refer to Map Loader Screen.), and select the desired map(s) using the left mouse button - the software will place a red check mark on the selected map(s). Right-click the mouse to display an enlarged view of the selected map. |
| Maps currently in the memory card will appear on the map index in a different colour. |

If you do not know the map(s), you may use the Find utility to locate the map(s) See Find Utility. The Find utility has three tabs - Index, Search, and ZIP code. Use the Index tab if you know the city or state. Use the Search tab for a broader search. Use the ZIP code tab if you know the ZIP codes. |
| Press the Install Maps button. The software displays the Load Map screen See Load Map Screen. |
| The Load Map screen displays a list of all the available maps located on the CD-ROM. The check box beside each map will have a grey check mark if the map is currently in the memory card. |
| The software displays a red check mark in the check box beside each map that was selected in See Select the map(s) you wish to load. You can select the map(s) in two ways above. The software also displays the size of the map(s), and the available room on the memory card. Check that there is adequate room on the memory card to install the map(s). |
| Press the Load Maps button to install the map(s), or the Cancel button to exit map installation. |
| Removing Map (s) from memory card | ||
| Remove Map(s) From the Memory Card Using the Following Instructions: | ||
| 1. | Insert the Destinator CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive
in your desktop PC, and display the Load Map Screen - Refer To
Loading map (s) into memory card
for details, if necessary. The Load Map screen displays a list of all the available maps located on the CD-ROM. The check box beside each map will have a green check mark if the map is currently in the Compact Flash memory card. |

| 2. | Select the check box beside the map(s) you wish to remove. The software displays a "X" in the check box. | |
| 3. | Press the Remove button. The software removes the selected map(s) from the memory card. | |
| Removing navigation software | ||
| Remove the navigation software using the following instructions: | ||
| 1. | Insert the Destinator CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive in your desktop PC, and display the Map Loader screen - refer to Software installation for details, if necessary. | |
| 2. | Press the “Remove Software” button | |
